Die Designerin Mandy Wu wird von Gegensätzen angezogen, von Stärke und Verletzlichkeit, von Emotionalität und Rationalität. Dazu passt ihr Lebenslauf, der ebenfalls von Gegensätzen geprägt ist: Geboren wurde Mandy in den USA, wuchs jedoch in Singapur auf. Zuerst studierte sie Chemie bevor sie nebst ihrer wissenschaftlichen Ader auch ihren kreativen Sinn entdeckte und anfing, Schmuck zu designen.

Die (Fake-)Leder-Ketten aus der Kollektion Fortification I setzen sich aus geflochtenen Ledersträngen mit spitzen Metall „Kanülen“ zusammen und lassen sich so flexibel am Körper anbringen. Die langen Ketten formen sich zu Körperketten oder Body Jewelry und schmücken den ganzen Oberkörper.
